Mary Tudor, also known as Queen Mary I (or, less charitably, “Bloody Mary”) was Queen of England from 1553 to 1558. She was England’s first Queen Regnant whose reign was not disputed. The daughter of Henry VIII and Katherine of Aragon, she was raised Catholic, and aimed to keep England that way.
