The Cult, with their Milestone "She Sells Sanctuary" have laid the groundwork of many post punk / gothic rock Bands, maybe not so much of dressing style, even though  @Fields of the Nephilim  seem to have taken a few pointers from them ;) 
But with their bristling, flashy but still cool & cold delivery, many cookie cutter wannabees followed in their footsteps. 
Not the greatest song in the world, is it still worthy of a spot in my recommendation list, as it is a kinda timeless classic song today.
