Just when you think you've heard it all, you hear something even crazier.
According to a report on a Northwestern blog, Inside NU, sources say that former LSU head football coach Ed Orgeron, who led Joe Burrow and the 2019 LSU Tigers football team to a national championship, would be interested in the Northwestern Wildcats head football coach opening.
Former Northwestern player and head coach Pat Fitzgerald was fired for cause earlier this week after a former Northwestern football player came forward with allegations of graphic hazing in the locker room. There are reports that Fitzgerald knew of the alleged hazing which cost him his job of 17 years. Northwestern defensive coordinator David Braun will serve as the interim head coach for now and likely for the entirety of the 2023 season and the Wildcats will re-evaluate their coaching options after the conclusion of the season. So why would Coach O be interested in the job? Is the job interested in HIM?
