Description

Former NFL linebacker and Ole Miss legend Jeff Herrod joins the show on the Farm Bureau guest line talking about working his way from poverty to the pro's and his path to playing for Ole Miss live in the BankPlus studio. Jeff talks about his family not having enough money for him to get equipment for little league football so he found his own pads and helmet in a dumpster and used them to start his long career. Jeff looks back on that two mile walk he would take to get to practice and how he continued to be doubted once he arrived at Ole Miss. Jeff tells Bo that he wasn't on the depth chart when he first got to Oxford because he was under sized and they gave him the number 66. Jeff was insulted at the number given to a linebacker and quickly worked his way up the depth chart into the starting position. Jeff talks a bout being from Alabama and the lack of offers he received from the state schools, so when he intercepted a pass against Auburn in his first game playing he took that as revenge.
