NCAA transfer portal star Grant Nelson chose to join Nate Oats and the Alabama Crimson Tide over Eric Musselman and Arkansas, helping to replace the losses of Charles Bediako and Noah Clowney in Bama's frontcourt.
Nelson's floor spacing and rim protection will be tested in the SEC, but if he's up for the task he'll make a fantastic addition to Oats' team. Meanwhile, Muss and the Hogs will likely turn their attention to Jordan Brown, a big man transfer from Louisiana who Muss coached at Nevada back in 2018-19.
Simeon Wilcher decommitted from North Carolina and quickly found a new home at St. John's, where he's the 12th newcomer for coach Rick Pitino and his highest rated recruit this cycle. What Wilcher's playing time looks like for the Johnnies remains to be seen, but it's clear Pitino is ready to build this program from the ground up.
Finally, Arizona and tommy Lloyd put together a staggering non-conference schedule that includes Purdue in Indiana, Duke at Cameron Indoor, as well as neutral site battles with Tom Izzo and Michigan State and the aforementioned Alabama team.
