Close your eyes,
Center yourself,
And turn inward,
Focusing all your energy
On you.
PAUSE
Now, breathe.
Breathe in peace.
Breathe in relaxation.
Breathe in awareness.
PAUSE
And with your eyes closed,
And your mind and body relaxed,
Become aware of any
Sounds around you.
Listen.
What do you hear?
Allow yourself to
Pick up all those sounds
That blend in,
And hide in
The busyness
Of Life.
PAUSE
Now, with your eyes still closed,
Picture the room where you are.
And, slowly, slowly,
Scan the room.
What do you see?
Are there things you walk by
Every day,
But don’t really notice?
What do they look like?
PAUSE
Breathe again,
And gently open
Your hands,
So they can
Feel the sensations around you.
How do they feel?
Are they warm
From the room,
Or cool?
Do they feel heavy
With the air,
Or Light?
Give yourself
Permission to
Really connect
With the sensations.
PAUSE
Now, gently lay your hands
At your side or in your lap,
And open your mouth.
Let your tongue out
To taste the air.
What does it taste like?
Is it bland or soft?
Does it tingle or sting?
Really connect with
The experience.
PAUSE
Gently close your mouth,
And, for a moment,
Just breathe in
The sensory experiences
You just had.
Take a moment to
Acknowledge
All these things
That are around you,
But often hidden
From awareness.
PAUSE
And, now,
Feel gratitude
For all these things
That are part of
Your everyday life.
Part of who you are
In the Now.
