A gutsy performance from the Dallas Stars leads to a 5-4 victory in a shootout over the Washington Capitals. Roope Hintz scores twice, Jason Robertson with a couple of assists along with a helper from Joe Pavelski as the top line drove the push in the third period. Miro Heiskanen played his best game in the last few weeks as the defense was better at some points but not great. The offense came through big, Tyler Seguin scored his 9th goal of the season to get the Stars on the board as they trailed for the majority of the game. Plus, Matt Duchene played in his 1,000 career game and got an assist on a goal from Mason Marchment in the 2nd period to cap off a great milestone night. Scott Wedgewood was perfect in the skills competition against the Capitals with Robertson having the lone goal. Dallas will need to build off of the win because the best team in the NHL, the Vegas Golden Knights, will be at the AAC Saturday afternoon. The Stars have a lot to clean up, but a full two points on the second half of a back to back to salvage a road trip is always a good thing.
