Description
Welcome to the Women’s Rugby Rundown for July 10-16. The Black Ferns clinched their second consecutive World Rugby Pacific Four Series title, Canada and Australia have secured their spots in WXV 1, the USA has locked in their place in WXV 2, and Japan triumphed over Spain with a 24-19 victory, completing a clean sweep of their series.
Spain is now set to take on Italy on July 22 in the final WXV Qualifier, where the victor will join WXV 2 and the defeated side will take a spot in WXV 3. Meanwhile, England has announced 32 player contracts with improved benefits, which now include maternity leave. We've also disseminated infographics showcasing the designated hosts for future Rugby World Cups and Olympics, and another graphic highlighting the impressive surge in attendance at women's rugby matches since the 2014 Rugby World Cup.
Finally, South Africa's Premier Division saw its top three teams achieving substantial victories, with the Bull Daisies preserving their position at the top of the standings. The Farah Palmer Cup made its comeback over the weekend, and Waikato emerged as the leader.
We close out the week with 8 features, 4 media and 2 rugby jobs.
