Welcome to the first episode of ShouJoe, a podcast where our host Sarah shows her longtime friend Joe some Shoujo anime (anime with an audience intended for girls/young women). Every episode we recap and discuss two episodes of a shoujo anime.We are starting with Angelic Layer and this episode will cover episodes 1 & 2. …okay look, so maybe, just maybe, Angelic Layer is technically a Shounen anime (the intended audience is boys), and perhaps Sarah just assumed it was a Shoujo because she watched it as a child, but it’s got a female lead, and mother-daughter drama, and, uh, dolls, so I think we should count it. We’re going to count it. It’s Shoujo now!
