Sergei Bobrovsky weathered the storm in the first 35 minutes as they surrendered multiple odd man rushes on the night. Panthers Head Coach Paul Maurice was not pleased with the teams energy as the Pittsburgh Penguins were dominating the face off dot and the neutral zone. Panthers forwards Anton Lundell and Eetu Luostarinen were some of the standouts after the Panthers juggled their lines, which included the game-winning goal at 6:10 in the 3rd period where the Panthers never looked back from there. The team was down 6-on-4 in the final minutes of the game and the Cats denied Pittsburgh from getting quality scoring chances in the third, where the Panthers only allowed two SOG prior to the Penguins bringing in the extra attacker.
