Wednesday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski laid out more reporting around Kyrie Irving and his standoff with the Brooklyn Nets. Irving's only realistic path (at least currently) to the Lakers is one that requires him to opt out of his contract, leave over $36 million on the table, and instead sign with the Lakers for just over $6 million.No player has ever left that much money unclaimed. it's worth noting that Irving lost out on $17 million or so last season by not getting vaccinated and missing games, and also tens of millions via a lost sponsorship with Nike. So does that mean he's an unpredictable loose cannon who would do even the most unusual, unprecedented things around his finances?
