Welcome to The Garden Culture Podcast, I am your host, Bailey Van Tassel. I am a home gardener, mother, and writer, passionate about inspiring you to garden no matter where you live or how much time you have. I am on a mission to bring gardening back into our culture, as a part of daily life. I’ve even had people say, “its like you’re trying to make gardening cool again”, why yes, yes I am. And the reason being that gardening quite literally changed my life. It redirected me back to my own roots, put me in touch with the seasons, and rebooted my instincts and intuition. It gave me so much to share with my children and a new lens through which to see the world. And I’m not the only one. 

My pursuit of a garden-inspired life has introduced me to fascinating people, many of whom are not horticulturists or professional growers, but are regular people doing extraordinary things, and also like to garden - letting nature inform their lives. I’m opening up my rolodex and bringing these folks in for personal conversations that I hope keep you growing - literally and figuratively. 

On this show we hear from herbalists, interior designers, farmers, authors, influencers, entrepreneurs, artists, and overall amazing people gleaning wisdom, insight, tips, and tricks.  You’ll also get some one on one time with me, Bailey, as I guide you through some of the tactical gardening approaches and practices that I’m using in my own garden in southern california.  I tackle topics like growing your own beans, making oxymels, companion planting, seed starting, and more. 

My hope is that it feels like you’re right beside me, learning to garden, soaking in the magic of life, and getting to meet some of my incredible friends.
