In this podcast Harry and Sean are joined by Dr Ingvild Bode to look at the application and challenge of AI use in weapons systems. Dr Ingvild Bode has spent the last year researching this subject for her most recent policy report, Loitering Munitions and Unpredictability: Autonomy in Weapon Systems and Challenges to Human Control, co-authored with Dr Tom Watts. During the podcast Harry, Sean and Dr Ingvild explore how AI is being used today to supplement or delegate motor skills but also cognitive skills. They also explore how AI plays a role in how decisions are made about specific aspects of the targeting process.
