Joseph L. Giacalone is a retired NYPD Sergeant SDS (Supervisor Detective Squad) and internationally recognized expert. He has an extensive background in criminal investigations. He has held many prestigious positions in the NYPD, but his favorite was the Commanding Officer of the Bronx Cold Case Squad. Joe has worked on and supervised hundreds of homicides, violent felonies, suicides and missing persons cases. Joe has trained investigators from all over the United States and the world. Kristina Rex is a reporter for WBZ-TV News. She joined the station in August 2018 from Portland, Maine, where she worked as a general assignment reporter, investigative reporter, and fill-in anchor at WCSH. She started her career in New England as well, working as a morning reporter for WLBZ in Bangor, Maine. Ian Runkle hosts a legal information and education YouTube channel - Runkle OF the Bailey - with a leaning towards firearms law. I'm Canadian, so the primary focus will be Canadian law, but as you can tell by his appearance here he also covers American cases. #KarenRead #Turtleboy #AidanKearney #DavidYanetti #AlanJackson #JenMcCabe #BrianAlbert #MichaelProctor #TrueCrime #TrueCrimeCommunity #Canton #CantonCoverup

Everyone's just trying to survive in a rough world. No one knows this better than the outspoken, unfiltered 83-year-old host Karmela Waldman, a Holocaust survivor. Her co-host son, Joel, is just trying to survive life as a father of three, husband, parental caretaker, and TV news correspondent. Each week, join this dysfunctionally dynamic mother-son duo as the two take a light look at all sorts of stories of survival, from surviving a son's murder to life as a CIA agent to the fame and fast fortune that come with being a hip-hop legend. Did we mention Karm is also a licensed therapist? So, no topic is off limits for these two pillars of podcasting who also break down the biggest news stories. One question always remains: Will Joel survive the survivor? Tune in to find out!
