Description

We’re joined by Estate Agent and Landlord, Russel Hunt whose company, PetsLets, specifically focuses on finding properties for people with pets. We chat about why the conversation about renting pet friendly accommodation as fallen off the ‘radar’ of late. We discuss why it is important that whichever party wins the upcoming election, they will prioritise the Renters Reform Bill particularly where the clause section 21 is concerned that currently gives powers to Landlords for short notice terminations and evictions.  Despite over half of Briton’s owning a dog, renting with pets is  still considered a niche market, with many estate agents focusing on lets without pets, rather than thinking more inclusively.  We chat about the pros and cons of additional insurance, and why unfortunately some landlords may have been disappointed by irresponsible owners and as with everything it's the minority that spoils it for the majority.  Russell explains that the issue is partly down to  supply and demand, and that often Landlords accept the highest bidder that appears to be the lowest maintenance for the property.  We segue and talk about Leasehold properties too and why before agreeing to any purchase or rent, ensure that your dog’s name, is on the lease! For more information visit petslets.com or follow on Instagram or TikTokFor more about Anna go to annawebb.co.ukMusic and production by Mike Hanson for Pod People ProductionsCover art by JaijoCover photo by Rhian Ap Gruffydd at Gruff PawtraitsTo advertise on or sponsor A Dog's Life email: info@theloniouspunkproductions.com

Dogs. They’re companions, guardians, and much much more – they complete us. And they just might save us from ourselves. Anna Webb explores all levels of modern dog ownership and brings to life why every dog is extraordinary. She speaks to scientists and experts - people who have and are changing our understanding of dogs - on everything from emotional intelligence to nutrition to behaviour, delving deep into subjects like homeopathy, telepathic communication and the pet food scandal. It's thought provoking, alternative, and not a little subversive. Cover photo by @Gruffpawtraits
