In 1997, in a small town in East Texas, Bishop W.C. Martin and his wife Donna felt moved to adopt two children from the foster care system.They went on to inspire other families in their church to do the same. In total, 22 families in the community adopted 77 children.This moving true story is depicted in the new Angel Studios film “Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot.”In this episode, I sit down with award-winning actor Demetrius Grosse, who depicts Bishop Martin in the film, and Angel Studios CEO and co-founder, Neal Harmon.In America today, there are more than 400,000 children in the foster care system.One study found that about 70 percent of those who age out of the system are arrested at least once by the time they’re 26.
