About this series
This book will teach you how create three-dimensional forms on a two-dimensional surface in minutes.
What we will discover is that that brain processes patterns of dark and light to convey information about form. These are absolutely essential skill sets for the artist. If you already paint or draw, these exercises will help you clarify your skill sets and speed them up.
This book can be used alone, but you will get more out of it if you first work through the exercises in "How to Sketch Shapes".
Titles in the series (3)
- Still Life in Tone and Colour
Each course and book guide in the 'Paint with Pete' series adds another painting and style to your repertoire. This book will guide you through the process of painting a beautiful still life painting. Your painting won't look exactly like the one in this book. That doesn't matter! My method of teaching enables you to express your own taste and feelings about what is beautiful. This is not a prescriptive method, but rather a series of processes which enable your self expression. Go for it! Have fun!
- How to Sketch Shapes
This book will teach you how accurately sketch simple and complex shapes in seconds. There are two methods: 1) using basic shapes (square, triangle and circle), 2) using polygons. Both methods are complementary. They can be used alone or together. These are absolutely essential skill sets for the artist. If you already paint or draw, these exercises will help you clarify your skill sets and speed them up.
