Jenna Glynn Ghost Stories Series

Jenna Glynn and her crew are setting up to film an episode of a new documentary series, which she hopes will compete with the Biography Channel’s “Celebrity Ghost Stories.” The venue for this night is the City Tavern in downtown Dallas. The building was once owned, and is now haunted by Jack Ruby, the mobster who murdered JFK assassin Lee Harvey Oswald. She discovers the disgustingly drunken Gash Peavy passed out in the restroom after the bar closes. He is a burned-out 90’s rock star, famous for his power ballads, who is now attempting a comeback in the Texas Music scene. He and Jenna inadvertently become entangled in a ghostly encounter that includes both channeling and violent telekenesis, and which has them both in fear for their lives and their sanity. This paranormal experience forges a reluctant partnership between Jenna and Gash, and each makes plans to ruthlessly use the other in their voracious quest for fame and fortune. The Ghost of City Tavern is a fact-based fictional story of a present-day haunting, which is told in a setting of the historical events surrounding John F. Kennedy’s assassination.

In the second book of the series, The Spirit of The Old Hotel, Jenna and Gash Peavy dubiously team up again to investigate the notorious haunting of the historic Adolphus Hotel in downtown Dallas. After twenty-eight days in an exclusive Dallas rehab clinic, Gash moves into a private apartment on the Glynn family's beautiful Highland Park estate. Jenna has personally refurnished and redecorated, and has lovingly staged his cherished guitars in his new place, hoping that the former rock legend will become creatively inspired toward restarting his musical career. Predictably, Gash adamantly refuses to get involved in the new episode of the celebrity ghosthunter TV show that Jenna has been contracted to create. But Biography Channel execs are demanding his participation, and expecting to exploit his past rockstar notoriety to promote the series. Jenna finally manages to persuade Gash that his resurgent career could benefit from the anticipated media buzz. Then they receive shocking news that his rehab roommate was found dead, just hours after warning Gash to stay away from the old section of the Adolphus Hotel. The production crew endures their constant bickering and sexual tension, in addition to mysterious equipment malfunctions, while scrambling to meet their new deadline. Suddenly the pair is overwhelmed by paranormal forces and phantom entities. They are confronted with the horrifying truth behind the strange noises coming from the old 19th floor ballroom: a jilted bride hanging from clanging pipes had appeared to be a suicide in 1938. With Glenn Miller's big band music providing the soundtrack, they witness sinister scenes of a Nazi conspiracy and her vicious murder. "Tuxedo Junction" plays in a loop while the ghostly faces of Holocaust victims terrorize the duo, who desperately struggle to escape with their lives and their sanity.

Some spirits just cannot believe that they are dead. For decades there have been paranormal sightings of the mysterious and alluring ‘Lady of the Lake’, who was killed after a car crash caused her to drown in White Rock Lake almost a century ago. Separate appearances occur to both Gash and Jenna, as well as to the Glynn family’s driver, Joey. Although they keep it secret from each other, these events almost derail two charitable concerts on the same night. The promising reality star, Jenna Glynn, is contemplating the next ghost-hunting episode of her spec TV series, Celebrities Haunt Dallas. She is feeling both grateful and guilty about hijacking the paranormal skills of her reluctant sidekick, the once-famous rocker Gash Peavy, for the first two episodes at City Tavern and at the grand Adolphus Hotel. To display her gratitude, Jenna resolves to produce a comeback concert for Gash at the Corinthian Sailing Club of White Rock Lake. Jenna aims to stifle any ghost talk, for fear that it will send Gash packing. He feels that her elegant ‘society event’ setting for his CD-release concert is ostentatious and misguided. Gash decides to covertly organize his own free concert at nearby Flag Pole Hill later that same night. He recruits Glynn family staff members, Joey the limo driver and Yoshio the groundskeeper, as well as his psychiatrist Dr. Angus Glynn, to help with his surreptitious plan. Gash hopes to draw a large audience of substance-abusers and addicts, and then personally challenge them to pledge sobriety and to accept help from the various rehab services. Lies are told, promises are broken, and the pair both vow to keep their encounters with the ‘Lady of the Lake’ forever secret from each other. The result is a spooky comedy of errors, which further escalates the awkward and unrequited relationship that the two had endured in The Ghost of City Tavern and The Spirit of the Old Hotel. This unwelcome phantom, and their own devious intrigue, plunge the recalcitrant partners into deeper antipathy.
