About this series
Cassidy Nolan finally felt like things were coming together, like maybe she could actually be an effective leader. Now, she's stuck in a van with these other Alphas, all of whom think they should be in charge. At least she still has Snow at her back. Their quarry is elusive, but Cassidy is determined. She will track down her wolves, and no one, not even the other Alphas, will get in her way.
As hope dwindles with each passing day, Snow and Cassidy push forward, strengthening their bond. Will it be strong enough to get them through the trials to come? And if the Alphas can even track down their quarry, will they be able to put aside their disagreements long enough to rescue their packs?

1
Unknown to regular citizens, nightmarish supranormals ("supras") lurk in the dark underbelly of human civilization. Code-named Malice, Hunter Mary Alice Nolan was genetically modified and rigorously trained to use her great strength, heightened senses, and killer instincts to track and eliminate supras who prey on the innocent. A loner by choice, her only real link to the human world is her close connection to her mother and sister-until the unthinkable happens . . . Ruri Samson has been a werewolf for more than a century and is comfortably situated as the Beta of her peaceful pack. Until she is betrayed by the woman she loves and an evil outsider massacres her Alpha and his most loyal followers. Barely escaping with her life, Ruri is forced to tread the perilous path of a lone wolf while vowing vengeance against the usurper and his minions. Although these two powerful women should rightfully despise each other, fate will soon compel them to join forces on a dangerous quest to avenge their loved ones-and will ignite a forbidden passion that neither of them ever imagined.
- Hunter's Descent
2
While investigating the deaths of multiple students at a boot-camp style institution, Malice and Ruri become trapped in the mysterious Kingdom of Flower and Bone-a netherworld filled with both magical and malignant beings. But which is which? Even ancient forces aren't immune to petty squabbles. Will the pair make it out alive? Mary Alice Nolan, code-named "Malice," is a Hunter: genetically modified and rigorously trained to track and kill supranormals ("supras") such as werewolves, vampires, and demons. Seeking revenge after her sister is malevolently "turned" into a werewolf, the last thing the hot-tempered Malice expected was to develop deep desires for one of her sworn enemies. Ruri Samson is a magnificent golden-eyed wolven without a pack. Smart, sensitive, and loyal, she considers Malice her mate. Ruri would sacrifice her own life to protect her-and this time she just may have to.

When Cassidy Nolan agreed to take over as the Alpha for Chicago's North Side werewolf pack, she knew she was in for a challenge. Four months later, and she's wondering how things deteriorated so far so quickly. Her sister-the Hunter of Chicago, a genetically-engineered werewolf/vampire/demon slayer-has disappeared, and wolves from her pack are vanishing without a trace. Complicating matters is the lone wolf in town whose motivations Cassidy isn't sure she trusts. All Snow had planned was to check in on her brother's old pack, to make sure they were doing all right and that she didn't need to avenge him. The new Alpha might be floundering, but with some guidance, Snow thinks she could be a decent leader. Not one to stay too long in one place, she should already be heading out of town, but the Alpha's plight and that of her pack have her sticking around a little longer. Cassidy and Snow quickly realize that time is a luxury and they're about to run out. Forces far greater than the North Side Pack are aligning against them. And when they go looking to forge outside alliances, they discover that those who would call themselves allies may not have their best interests at heart.

The lone wolf Snow has her hands full. She and the surviving Alphas of the Chicago werewolf packs have been on the run since barely escaping an ambush with their lives. Whoever attacked them not only murdered Alphas and Betas, but they've managed to kidnap most of the werewolf packs in the area. Riding herd on four Alphas, and trying to keep them from turning on each other, is not Snow's idea of fun.
