About this series
Enjoy satire? I guess you do, otherwise you wouldn't have landed here...
With no heir to the throne of Merewood, the elves are divided in their choice of successor. Merith, a loyal friend of the late king, believes his son, Thaldyr, has more right to rule than most, but others remember a different bloodline. The great forest of Merewood has not seen a queen - a jewel - rule for centuries, but does the lost jewel of Merewood even exist? Both parties believe that she does, and with a vague idea of where she resides, both intend to find her first... for very different reasons.
Meanwhile, in the bustling city of Landos, a travelling con man returns, fresh from escaping the merciless grasp of King Louis de-Cap - Garlician monarch and lover of all things painful to those that aren't... him. The prodigal son soon formulates a plan to turn the city's archaic law system on its head.
On the outskirts, in their strange little blithering bohemia, the wizards... are being wizards...
Oh, to live in truly Lawful Times.

Enjoy satire? I guess you do, otherwise you wouldn't have landed here... Landos. A chaotic, multi-species, semi-evolved mire inhabited by a kaleidoscope of comical and devious characters. A wizard is murdered in a desperate attempt at stalling the progress of invention, randomly throwing an innocent into the middle of an age-old conflict after he 'inherits' the old trickster's puzzling map. With the drawing as his only guide, Svelt reluctantly begins searching for the unnamed artefact. But he is not alone... A determined, ruthless 'messenger' heaven-bent on preventing it from being discovered. And an ancient, mischievous, time-travelling soul resurrected by a powerful sorceress, 'aiding' the confused soul along the way. Unwanted attention in Landos isn't conducive to life expectancy much beyond lunchtime... particularly for a dwarf troll.
- Eventful Times: A Fantasy Satire: The Slightly Unfeasible Tales of Landos, #2

When important people simply vanish from The Bible, there had better be a damn good reason. The demise of a planet creates a freak event and it's even a new one on Death. Spotting a promising chance to loom menacingly over future humanity (nothing beats a seriously good 'loom') he tags along for the ride - intertwined with the monotony of the 'day' job. When the unknown - possibly impending doom - threatens the world, the rulers of Anglost turn to the experts for help. The School of Science, aided by The Miserable Tricksters and Decidedly Dodgy Artists' (the provisional title given to the as yet untrusted wizards) quickly come up with two solutions... ignorance and brandy - possibly one solution, as ignorance can't be quaffed. Numerous religious groups blame non-tangible disbelievers for angering (insert here) and pray for forgiveness and mercy. In the background, someone of high standing turns to the unlikeliest of saviours... Gord excepted. But, is clumsy, reclusive inventor Albert Sonny ready for such a challenge?
- The Nth Horseman: A Fantasy Parody: The Slightly Unfeasible Tales of Landos, #3

Enjoy satire? I guess you do, otherwise you wouldn't have landed here... A freak magical event throws two unsuspecting creatures together, giving them a strange new perspective. The City of Landos is under attack once more, this time from a long-forgotten airborne predator. The inhabitants and hierarchy of the city soon learn that this particular winged beast is not your usual bad guy - unprecedented in the entire history of dragon lore! (Not to mention mathematics!) How do you stop an enormous winged reptile with a strange disposition? Don't throw sharp objects at it. Don't pay a dragonslayer to throw sharp objects at it. Don't give any citizen of Landos money for anything! (Especially if they claim to be a dragonslayer) Keep Sgt Dirk Tombs locked up. Blunt instruments are worse. And don't call it names - it has feelings too, you know. Do insist on the help of a ginger-haired inventor with magical(ish) friends of the pointy-hat variety... stand back...
