Ostracized from the mainstream superhero community for his scammy business, Doctor Mind must recruit and train a team of superhero rejects—including a Canadian lumberjack with a personal vendetta against trees, a washed-out sidekick who looks like a baby despite being an adult, and a woman with more brawn than brains—to become real superheroes and save his city from Death Skull.   Assuming they don't kill each other first.

The black owner of the unfortunately named Kool Komics and Kollectibles reaches out to Doctor Mind and the Fakers with a seemingly simple mission:   Protect a single issue of the legendary Captain King comic book series for one night.   This task, however, instantly becomes more difficult when the Fakers learn that the infamous Shrederer, an internationally-wanted assassin and thief, has set his sights on this ridiculously expensive comic. And he is perfectly willing to kill innocent people to destroy it.   With the fate of the most valuable comic book in the world on their shoulders, Doctor Mind and the Fakers must use every trick in the book to stop the Shrderer, protect the comic, and maybe live to see another night.
