About this series
How wrong can you be? Just when Delta think they've found a quiet solar system, a new alien threat raises its tentacle. Humans are back on the menu.
Delta Squad reach the Tiqsimuyu System, human-seeded and thriving, with the inhabitants spreading out from their home planet to begin in-system mining operations and the first steps of colonisation. On first contact, they are greeted with deep suspicion as the politicians recognise the Haven design of Yasuko's ship.
Little do they know their arrival, and especially that of Zzind's ship, has awoken an ancient alien force on the outermost planet. As it rises from the depths of slumber, it begins to exert control, and subjugates every machine in its path.
With the loss of contact, the Tiq Government pleads for the squad's help to transport TSD Space Marines to investigate. As the alien lays waste, Finn, Zuri, Smith and Noah are left impotent when the Marines come face to face with the dead remnants of their old allies. Ordered to stand down, their intervention unwanted by the politicians, they can only watch despite the rising threat.
As the squad begin to understand the true enormity of the alien's disdain for life, they are forced into desperate measures, the weapons of choice taking on a new role, one that will change them for ever.
While Delta fight for Nutu Allpa and the future of the system, Yasuko must face shocking revelations about her past. In the face of such a relentless onslaught, will the squad be able to hold themselves together?

A failed military training exercise. An alien incursion, desperate and on the hunt. Survival is just the beginning… Finn had thought he'd seen it all...but no...he had to admit... Not quite everything... There was a big universe out there and it was about to land in his lap. Just how bad could it be? Insubordinate and on the edge, Finn is a troubled war hero racked by guilt, overseen by an unyielding Commanding Officer while dragging his ragtag group of rookies through basic training. Suddenly caught up in a major global crisis, he joins with Gunner Zuri Zuberi, leading Delta Squad in a desperate struggle for survival when an alien incursion lands slap bang in the middle of their training session—killing indiscriminately and pitting inexperienced soldiers against the power of alien technology. With the modern-day world panicking after the small alien force penetrates Earth's ineffective defences, a second incursion drops into the atmosphere, revealing more of the enemy’s capabilities. As losses mount, the world’s armed forces find themselves helpless to act when the aliens reveal a weapon that could change modern warfare forever. This new alien tech breeds greed and mistrust amongst opposing countries. The need to be the first to acquire it, escalating beyond political conflict as governments circle, missiles at the ready. Finding themselves alone in the fight for Earth's future, Delta Squad discover the aliens are more than they seem, and that alien technology can be just as deadly in the hands of humanity when they unearth the Weapons of Choice. After arriving at Togalaau Vai full of hope, Delta find a paradise already accessing their planetary SeedShip, and on first look, maximising its knowledge for the good of all. But as they scratch under the surface, they discover the true depths humankind will go to. As the people of Vai struggle with the drudgery of their daily lives and the gradual destruction of their beautiful planet, the squad face the choice of creating a political vacuum or walking away and letting the people continue to suffer under the boot of the five powerful companies monopolising the planet for their own personal greed. When Zuri is thrown into prison and forced to fight in the Tau Pit for the pleasure of the rich and powerful, Finn has to bide his time and wait for her release. After things go badly wrong, his inner demons are released, and the crew find themselves in Finn’s way as his fire rages across the planet. With Noah and Yasuko developing space-certified Battle Armour, Finn takes his rampage into orbit where the powerful companies reside in their spectacular space stations. Faced with the dilemma of saving a whole people from the clutches of debt induced slavery, where the only way out is to sell your children for genetic research, or pursuing his own personal crusade, Finn calls upon the squad to climb into their Powered Armour and fight at his side. As the team learn more about themselves and how far they are willing to go to help others, Yasuko, the ship's AI, continues her personal journey as she stands alongside her human crew. With the impact of their actions reverberating around Togalaau Vai, the companies make their stand, and the deaths pile up. In response, Yasuko delivers on her pledge as they left Bathsen and produces the equalising weapons she promised the crew. But will they be enough as the squad faces the might of human genetic depravity and corruption? And will Smith finally get the chance to fight alongside his squad mates?

But seeing a soldier burn her own squad to end the agony of being eaten alive...things changed. “Me and mine. We survive.” Alien or human, don’t get in Zuri’s way. After leaving the dangers of Haven behind, Delta make planetfall on Bathsen, desperate for resources to keep their ship flying.
